chapter 1:
The world today can be a very busy place, there are people who are fortunate to have everything they need, and there people who are not so fortunate, but the one thing we all have in common is the skill to communicate and understand.
I was once travelling on a busy train from the city, to get home from work, the seats were all almost taken, and everyone was on their own day to day schedule, from wanting to get home, to rushing to get to work, but all I could think about, was all of the people around me were really different, but nice, even interesting, not enough for a conversation, but enough to think to myself about what a lovely world we live in.
As I got off of the train and walked to the bus stop, I went to the small little bakery selling pies, buns, sandwiches, bread rolls, drinks, cakes and everything I liked from when I was a child, so I decided to get a couple of items for when I got home to snack on.
I picked up a pie, cream buns, a sandwich, crisps, and the fizzy drink I have always liked, and went to the cashier to pay.
I put the items at the till and said hello miss, just these things today, and she said “that’s no problem love”, I will just scan them for you. Would you like a bag for the items, so I said yes please, when she had finished, I gave her the money, and she gave me my change, and put the receipt in the bag.
I walked to the bus stop and caught the, aaa37 to Guslop which is about five minutes walk from where I live. When I got home I fed the pets, and put the pie in the microwave and switched on my computer, that was normally my routine, so as usual everything went perfect.
I got settled, inputed my information, ate my dinner, and relaxed for about 45 minute’s, when the telephone rang, who could this be I wondered, as I normally get calls, but wasn’t sure who this one was from, I answered and said “hello” reluctantly, hi cutie, it’s me, do you still love me? A female voice said, it was my long term friend who I always had time for, so I replied Yes babe, I do still love you how are you? I’m ok she said I’m just missing you, so I thought I would call, as that’s what friends are supposed to do when they care about each other, isn’t it, yes, I replied, “good”, she said, because I want to ask you something, but not over the telephone, I need to speak to you in person, is that ok? yes I said name a day, and a place, and I will meet you there, “brilliant” I can’t wait to see you, how about the wine bar we normally go to, and the day will be next Tuesday, anyway at least I know your ok and it’s getting late, so, I will save everything I want to say for then, “see you Tuesday and have a nice night”, then hung up, that sounds interesting I thought, and got myself ready for bed.
